The future AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz A class is likely to return the title of the “most powerful hatchback” on the planet. The German manufacturer is working on the second generation of the car, which will get an impressive engine.
According to the information, the project for creating a new hot-hatch was named The Predator (predator). The car will retain the 2.0-liter petrol turbocharger, which will still be significantly upgraded. The power is expected to exceed 200 bhp per liter, which means that with the 400 hp under the hood, the new Mercedes-AMG A45 will be the most powerful serial hatchback in the history of the brand. The engine will get a new chapter on the cylinder block, as well as a special turbine system that will be combined with an electric compressor. It will provide sufficient torque at low revs. Thanks to this, the hot-hatch will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4 seconds (now it is 4.2 seconds).
A new two-clutch transmission is also provided for the vehicle, as well as a revised four-wheel drive system with torque vectorization function. Already known elsewhere, in Afalterbach where the AMG headquarters is located, they also work on the available modification of the hot-hatch. It will be called A32 or A36, but will receive the same engine, but with a power of 300 hp.
