Jaguar Land Rover has realized the final stages of developing the Range Rover’s first plug-in hybrid, and more information on the model has emerged from the company.
Hybrid versions will receive the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, and according to the magazine Autocar, the engine of the Ingenium family will have a 2.0-liter petrol engine of 300 hp, which will work with the electric module (EDM) and an electric motor , for which it is known only that it will have a power of just over 200 hp. The total power of the drive system exceeds 500 hp, and the 8-speed automatic transmission ZF will take care of the transmission. The PHEV version of Range Rover and Sport will also receive a lithium-ion battery that will provide power autonomy up to 48 kilometers.
This version will be for model 2018, and the hybrid drive system will later appear in the range of Jaguar – the models F-Pace, XF and XJ, which will allow a serious reduction in the average CO2 levels of the brand. It is assumed that the hybrid Range Rover will appear in the Frankfurt showroom this month.
