When you need bulletproofing but don’t want to sacrifice comfort or off-roading capabilities.
Even small-batch supercar manufacturers are getting bitten by the SUV bug. Witness California-based supercar builder Rezvani’s latest, which goes against the traditional supercar grain of its Beast Alpha coupe. Christened the Tank, this radical machine is a body-on-frame off-roader. Of course, no one springing for a bulletproof SUV will want to be carted around in anything without hyper-luxe leather guts.
Judging by the body, and the Jeep emblem on the windshield, it appears the Rezvani Tank is based on a current-generation Jeep Wrangler, which leads us to believe that it’s actually as capable off-road as it claims to be. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 churns out 500 hp, but Rezvani wasn’t clear about the rest of the driveline. We imagine an eight-speed ZF automatic sends that power to a beefed-up Jeep four-wheel-drive system.
Where the Tank truly earns its name is through the optional ballistic armor protection and thermal night vision. Both are handy features if you’re an off-roading head of state or you plan to wheel this thing around malls during the early hours of Black Friday.
The Rezvani Tank starts at $178,000, or just slightly less than an actual tank. This could be the perfect addition to your end-of-times underground airplane hangar or collection of over-the-top cars. If nothing else, the radically styled off-roader should fit right in with your Aventador.
