The new generation of Porsche Cayenne is almost ready for the world premiere, which will be held at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The release of AutoExpress published photos of the prototype in the field whose tests are in the final stage.
Judging by the photos on which the crossover is free of any camouflage, it can be boldly argued that in Porsche it was heading for evolution, because the vehicle completely retains the familiar look. That’s logical – at present Cayenne provides about 30% of the brand’s sales, so no one in the company would want the news too risky.
There are no photos of the interior, but it is expected that the changes will be revolutionary in it. There will be a digital instrument panel, a new central console, and a state-of-the-art multimedia system that can be operated with gestures and voice commands.
As far as the engines are concerned, in Cayenne they will be replacements from the new generation of Panamera. The crossover will get a 2.9-liter V6 engine of the Panamera 4S with 430 hp, and the 4.0-liter V8 from the Panamera Turbo with 550 hp. The diesel version will rely on the 4.0-liter V8 TDI from the Audi SQ7, which besides 435 hp offers an impressive 900 Nm of torque.
